Days 17 - 20 - December 4-7 - Part I

Days 17 and 18 were spent wrapping up the training in Singapore. Tuesday, we left work, picked up our bags from the hotel, made our way to the festively decorated airport, and caught a 7:00 pm flight to Kuala Lumpur which only lasted for an hour. But it took a while to find a driver and then the airport is about an hour away from downtown. So, by the time we got checked in to the Mandarin Oriental, it was almost 9:30 pm. It's a very nice hotel and once again --- these Asian bathrooms are the best! The hotel is right next to the twin towers which are quite impressive (particularly at night). We had a light supper in the hotel grill, and then off to bed since we had an early training session Wednesday morning. Wednesday training was the close process and then SAP tips and tricks. Had a full conference room and for lunch, KP ordered a special meal for us in the TI cafeteria (chicken fried chicken, french fries, and cole slaw) so we wouldn't have to eat the Malay food served in the cafeteria. For dessert, we had the freshest tropical fruits (mango, papaya, and a fruit whose name I can't remember that tasted a whole lot like a pear). After work, the driver took us back to the hotel --- but there was construction and very heavy traffic --- and it took an hour! There is a very nice mall right across the breezeway from the hotel, so we shopped and ended up at Chili's for dinner! Tasted just like it does at home! Today was more training (Modplan and Business Objects). Tonight --- more mall time --- and then tomorrow we leave the hotel at 7:30 am to catch our flight to Manila.
