Day Thirteen - 30 November

Today, we spent training the TI Singapore staff. To allow for last workday close activities, we didn't start until after lunch, so Debi started Modplan training ... and got halfway through before time to quit. That evening, Greg invited us to dinner at his house. We met Cindy and the family and had our first homecooked meal in a long time. Cindy grilled pork loin and a wonderful marinated chicken, made homemade bread, cooked real American vegetables, and we had some really good Lipton rice to go with. And, a salad with Kraft Ranch dressing! Little do you realize how much you miss home --- when you've missed such ordinaries as Lipton rice and Kraft Ranch dressing! ... Plus ... the marinade for the chicken was an Archer Farms product from Super Target ... that they brought home with them from their last trip to the US! We felt honored by them using something for us that they must treasure! Greg and Cindy have a very nice place, and it was interesting to see how Americans live overseas. In fact, Cindy had been to market that day and had found all these beautiful pottery items in total for less than $65 Sing! So, it was kind of like Christmas for us --- watching her opening her finds that night from her successful shopping day! We really enjoyed spending time with Greg and his family, and after extending our sincere thanks, it was off to an early evening in the hotel.
